Suppose you have six quarters, nine dimes, and four pennies. Explain how you find the total value of all the coins.

Answer:

You add all the values together.

Explanation:

Each quarter is 25 cents. You should know that four quarters make a dollar.

25 * 4 = 100

Now you have two quarters left which makes 50 cents.

Add the 9 dimes and you have 90 cents.

9 * 10 = 90

And 4 pennies which equals 4 cents.

Now add.

50 + 90 + 4 = 1.44

Now add the whole dollar from the first step and now you have $2.44. Two dollars and forty four cents.
