Ariel completed the work below to show that a triangle with side lengths of 9, 15, and 12 does not form a right triangle. 9 squared + 15 squared = 12 squared. 81 + 225 = 144. 306 not-equals 144. Is Ariel's answer correct?

Answer:

No, is wrong

Explanation:

In a right triangle it is known that the hypotenuse is the longest side always

The Pythagorean formula allows us to check if a triangle can be formed with these measurements, we must bear in mind that 15, being the largest number, we will take as the hypotenuse

h² = l1² + l2²

15² = 9² + 12²

225 = 81 + 144

225 = 225

so a triangle with these measurements can be a rectangle
