The circumference of a round swimming pool at a resort is 157 feet. The pool is 6 feet deep but can only be filled to three-fourths of its height for safety reasons. How many cubic feet of water should be put in the pool? Round to the nearest whole cubic foot. Use 3.14 for π.

706.5 cubic feet of water should be put in the pool.

Explanation:

Given,

The circumference of swimming pool = 157 feet.

The depth of the pool = 6 feet.

For safety purpose
(3)/(4) th of its height water is there.

To find the amount of the water should be there.

Formula

The volume of the pool = circumference×height

Now,

The height(h) of the water is = 6×
(3)/(4) ft =
(9)/(2) ft

So, the volume of the pool = 157×
(9)/(2) cubic feet

=
(1413)/(2) cubic feet = 706.5 cubic feet.

Hence,

706.5 cubic feet of water should be put in the pool.
