Consecutive even numbers are even numbers which follow each other in order, without gaps, from smallest to largest.

Let the numbers be :


x and
x+2

Therefore:


x+x+2=58

we have :


2x+2=58

subtract 2 from both sides


2x = 58-2


2x = 56

Divide both sides by 2


x = 28

therefore , the second number will be
28+2 , which will be
30
