1. number of protons = atomic number.

3.number of neutrons = mass number - atomic number.

Atomic number shows u the amount of protons there are in the atom

The protons are equal to the number of electrons

The group number tells you the number of electrons on the outer shell

(Sorry if u didn’t want the extra info but really it’s simple like magnesium has 12 so it has 12 protons/ 12 electrons)
