Answer:

Total area of construction paper = 278.63 square inches

Explanation:

Given:

Dimension for First rectangle =
12* 14(1)/(4)

Dimension for another rectangle =
10(1)/(2)* 10(1)/(4)

Solution:

First we find the area of the first rectangle

Area = length* width

A_(1) = 12* 14(1)/(4)

A_(1) = 12* (57)/(4)

A_(1) = (12* 57)/(4)

A_(1) = 3* 57

A_(1) = 171\ square\ inches

Similarly, we find the area of the another rectangle.

Area = length* width

A_(2)= 10(1)/(2)* 10\frac{1}4}

A_(2)= (21)/(2)* \frac{41}4}

A_(2)= (21* 41)/(2* 4)

A_(2)= (861)/(8)

A_(2) = 107.63\ square\ inches

So, the total square inches of construction paper is given as:

A = A_(1)+A_(2)

Substitute
A_(1)\ and \ A_(2)\ value

A=171+107.63

A = 278.63 square inches

Therefore, Gina needs 278.63 square inches of construction paper for her project.
