Answer:

a) Amount spent Rs 15000

Amount saved is Rs 9000

b) it will take him 6 years

Explanation:

The amount Mitali earns is Rs. 24000 in a month.

The ratio of her spending to her savings is 5:3

The total ratio is:5+3=8.

The amount spends is:

(5)/(8) * 24000 = 15000

The amount he saves is:

(3)/(8) * 24000 = 9000

If Mitali, saves 9000 a month, we need to divide 54000 by 9000 to obtain the number of months it will take him to save Rs 54000.

(54000)/(9000) = 6
