multiply the number within parenthesis by itself the number of times equivalent to the exponent.

for example

1) 6^3 = 6*6*6 = 216

2) 4^2 = 4*4 = 16

3) 9^3 = 9*9*9 = 729

4) 8^3 = 8*8*8 = 512

5) 3^3 = 3*3*3 = 27

6) 2^3 = 2*2*2 = 8

7) 7^3 = 7*7*7 = 343

8) 5^3 = 5*5*5 = 125

9) out of frame

12) 4^2 = 4*4 = 16
