Peyton felt strange when she awoke one morning. She could not hold a pen in her right hand when trying to write an entry in her diary, and her muscles were noticeably weaker on the right side of her body. What do you suspect has occurred? Where in the brain might you suspect that abnormal activity or perhaps lesion is located, and why? Be specific in your answer.

The left half (hemisphere) of the brain controls the activities of the right side of the body.

Peyton obviously had stroke over the night which might either be ischemic stroke (occurs when a blood clot keeps blood from flowing to your brain) or haemoragic stroke (results when a blood vessel in your brain ruptures or breaks, spilling blood into the surrounding tissues) which affected the right side if her body, a left-brain stroke made her weak and not able to move the right side of her body. Other effects from the stroke may include; trouble speaking or understanding words said or written.

The stroke might have affected the following areas of her brain, brain stem, cerebrum, cerebellum, limbic system.all these structures are

located at the base of the brain, the brain stem maintains basic life-supporting functions such as breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and digestion. When a major stroke occurs in this part of the brain, the outcome is usually fatal.

Answer:

Hemiplegia caused by tumor in cerebellum of hind brain...

Step-by-step explanation:

It is a kind of paralysis that is caused by the tumors in brain that may affect the cerebellum that control muscle movements. A partially affected cerebellum may contribute to half body paralysis. As the tumor grows larger and larger the more affected cerebellum may cause a final full body paralysis.
