Suppose that the weight (in pounds) of an airplane is a linear function of the amount of fuel (in gallons) in its tank. When carrying 16 gallons of fuel, the airplane weighs 2004 pounds. When carrying 48 gallons of fuel, it weighs 2212 pounds. How much does the airplane weigh if it is carrying 58 gallons of fuel? Amountoffuelingallons Airplaneweightinpounds

Answer:

with 12 gallons, weight is 2066 lbs.

with 40 G, wt = 2220 lbs

so, 40-12 = 28 G weigh = 2220-2066

= 154 pounds
