All employees at Wally World Amusement Park are required to work on weekends because that is 80% of the customers visit the park. Alex likes to go to church on Sunday morning and asks that he not have to work on Sunday. Must the park accommodate his request?

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination at work based on religious reasons. The federal government requests that employers make reasonable accommodations to allow their employees to go to church unless it causes undue hardship to the employer.

In this case, Wally World receives 80% of its customers on the weekends, so it obviously needs all its employees during that time. Since apparently Alex is christian, he wants to go to church on Sunday, but that would cause a problem to Wally World. Therefore, Wally World is not required to allow Alex to go to church, and the same would happen to a jew that wished to attend a synagogue on Saturday. I do not know much about other religions, but if there holy day is on the weekend, then they wouldn't be allowed to attend either.

Answer:

No, the park must not accommodate his request

Step-by-step explanation:

Employees of any organization are usually given a letter of appointment which states amongst other things, the requirements of the place of employment.

Wally world has clearly stated that working on weekends is a company REQUIREMENT.

So Alex going to Church on Sunday which is his preference should not stop him from fulfilling his work place requirement
