Answer:

They invented the yo-yo which is considered the 2nd oldest toy in the world after the doll. About one third of the population of some city-states were slaves. There were more city-states than just Sparta and Athens, Ancient Greece had around 100 city-states. Ancient Greece had a warm, dry climate, as Greece does today. Most people lived by farming, fishing and trade. Others were soldiers, scholars, scientists and artists. Greek cities had beautiful temples with stone columns and statues, and open-air theatres where people sat to watch plays. The word "theater" comes from the Greek word "theatron", which means "seeing place." The masks allowed for one actor to play different roles in the same play. A building behind the orchestra was called the skene. Actors would change costumes in the skene. The ancient Greek drama was a theatrical culture that flourished in ancient Greece from 700 BC.
