Answer:

It will cost $22.08 to cover three pairs of shoes.

Explanation:

First we'll have to find the surface area of a box in order to find how much it costs to ship one box. Then we'll have to multiply this number by three to get our answer.

Let's find the surface of of the box.

To find the area of the top and the bottom, multiply length * width.

16 * 10 = 160

The area of the base and the top is 160 sq in.

To find the area of the shorter sides, multiply the height by the width.

10 * 8 = 80

The area of the shorter sides is 80 sq in.

Finally, to find the area of the longer sides, multiply the length * height.

16 * 8 = 128

The length of the longer sides is 128 sq in.

Now we have to add all of the areas together and multiply the sum by the cost per sq in.

160 + 160 + 80 + 80 + 128 + 128 = 736

736 * 0.01 = 7.36

It costs $7.36 to wrap one shoe box.

Now all we have to do is multiply that cost by three because there are three pairs of shoes that need to be wrapped.

7.36 * 3 = 22.08

It will cost $22.08 to cover three pairs of shoes
