Eva is jumping on a trampoline. Her height (h) at time (t) can be modeled by the equation h= -16t+20t+6. Would Eva reach a height of 14 feet? Please help this is quadratics in which I am very bad at. Much help is appreciated.

Answer:

No, she would not reach a height of 14 feet.

Explanation:

I'm assuming you meant h=-16t^2+20t+6

Plug in 14 for h:

14=-16t^2+20t+6

Simplify:

16t^2-20t+8=0

Divide by 4:

4t^2-5t+2=0

Use quadratic equation:

(5±
√(25-8*4))/8

Since you can't take the square root of a negative number, there is no solution, or that she cannot reach a height of 14 feet

Answer:

No.

Explanation:

h(t)= -16t^2+20t+6, (I assume you left out the exponent as this IS quadratics)

Put the equation into a graphing calculator and it shows how at the top of the parabola the y axis never reaches 14.
