For example if the problem is 4/3 subtracted by 2/4, you would make the denominators common
The gcf is 12 so you need to make both equal 12
2/4 x 3 = 6/12 and 4/3 x 4 = 16/12
16/12 - 6/10 = 10/12

Make them the same denominator like 2/3 and 4/6 you can either simplify 4/6 t0 2/3 or do 2/2 * 2/3 and get 4/6
