from the equation w=3(2a+b)-4 to make "a" the subject of the formulae

we have,

w = 6a + 3b - 4

by rearranging

6a = w-3b + 4

since we are making a the subject, we divide both sides by 6

we have

6a/6 = w - 3b + 4/6

therefore;

a = w - 3b + 4/6
