5x-1

Explanation:

(11x-8)+7(x-1)

Since you cannot distribute any number for the first set of parenthesis, you distribute with the addition symbol. so, it will be 11x+8.

Then, you know that when a number is attached to the parenthesis you distribute with it. So the second set of parenthesis it will be 7x-7.

So now attach the two solutions together= 11x+8+7x-7

Now combine the like terms. You can see that the numbers and the x terms come together. So when you add or subtract the terms your solution will be
