C. 36 square feet. So, first you take you square in the middle and multiply the bottom by the side which is 6x4= 24 then you take the outside triangles and put them together so it would be 6x2= 12 then add them together which is 36

To calculate the rectangular area in the middle we do:
Area = base*height
Area = 4*6 = 24
To calculate the triangular area on both sides it’s:
Area = 1/2* base* height
Area = 1/2*2*6 = 6

Since there is two triangular area and one rectangle it’s:

24+6+6 = 36 square feet
