A river 3 m deep and 40 km wide is flowing at the rate of 2 km/h. How much water will fell into the sea in a minute?

The answer is 4000 m³

Explanation:

Given;

  • Depth of river (h) = 3m
  • Width of river (b) = 40m
  • Rate of water flow = 2 km/hour

To Find;

  • We have to find out how much water will fall into the sea in a minute.

Now,

Rate of water flow = 2 km/hour

= 2000m/60min

= 100 m per min

Now, Volume of water flowed in 1 min,

= (100/3) × 40 × 3 = 4000m³

Thus, 4000 m³ of water will fall into the sea in a minute.
