She made 15 cookies

Solution:

Let "x" be the number of cookies she made

She gave 1/3 of cookies for her husband

Therefore,

Husband = (1)/(3)x

Find the remaining

Remaining = x - (x)/(3) = (3x-x)/(3) = (2x)/(3)

1/4 of the cookies to her son

Therefore,

son = (1)/(4) * (2x)/(3) = (x)/(6)

Now again find the remaining

Remaining = (2x)/(3) - (x)/(6) = (x)/(2)

1/6 of a cookies to her neighbor

Neighbor = (1)/(6) * (x)/(2) = (x)/(12)

Now again find the remaining

Remaining = (x)/(2) - (x)/(12) = (5x)/(12)

She ate the remaining six cookies

Therefore,

(5x)/(12) = 6\\\\5x = 72\\\\x = 14.4

Thus she made approximately 15 cookies
