Answer: The side of square is 36 cm.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

The side of a square is 3 cm smaller than one of the sides of a rectangle and 2 cm greater than its other side. Find the side of the square, if the area of square 30 sq. cm less than the area of rectangle.

Let the side of square be 'x'.

Let the length of rectangle be x+3

Let the breadth of rectangle be x-2

So, Area of rectangle - Area of square = 30

(x+3)(x-2)-x^2=30\\\\x^2+x-6-x^2=30\\\\x-6=30\\\\x=30+6\\\\x=36

Hence, the side of square is 36 cm.
