The Reynolds number is the ratio of inertial forces to viscous forces within a fluid which is subjected to relative internal movement due to different fluid velocities, which is known as a boundary layer in the case of a bounding surface such as the interior of a pipe. Reynolds number is given by,
![Re = (VD)/(upsilon)](https://img.qammunity.org/2021/formulas/physics/college/74lk266yaimdygtr5mav50947qxgroe2nx.png)
Here,
V = Flow Velocity
= Kinematic viscosity
D = Size of object
For Whale
![Re = (10*30)/(1.83*10^(-6))](https://img.qammunity.org/2021/formulas/physics/college/ee4uhprdiafqr2f54feabuhaqh1mdmfnwe.png)
![Re = 1.64*10^8 \rightarrow Re >1](https://img.qammunity.org/2021/formulas/physics/college/pzbh4oybejci19zvzjz5h1e639bgn9e25c.png)
For bacterium
![Re = ((15*10^(-6))(2*10^(-6)))/(2.65*10^(-6))](https://img.qammunity.org/2021/formulas/physics/college/5z1b9gszuw0sbmo86xarzoc5nwsb0ull5g.png)
![Re = 11.32*10^(-6) \rightarrow Re<1](https://img.qammunity.org/2021/formulas/physics/college/sxd87eq1yy59s61hmavd7ilctxlsy9wg3r.png)
Bacteria lives in the world where viscosity is dominated
