There were a total of 800 novels and nonfiction books at a book shop. 2/5 of these books were novels. Each novel was priced at $7. Each nonfiction book was priced at $5. How much money would the owner of the book shop make if he sold 3/8 of the novels and 2/5 of the nonfiction books?

$1800

Explanation:

Total books = 800

Novels Books = 800*2/5 = 320

Nonfiction Books = 800-320= 480

No. of books sold

Novels Books = 320*3/8= 120

Nonfiction Books = 480*2/5 = 192

Total Amount = 120*7 + 192*5

Total Amount = 840 + 960

Total Amount = 1800

Thus total $1800 money the owner of the book shop will make.
