Explanation:

Convert the percentage into a decimal. Move the decimal place that is after the 8% (same as 8.0% if you need to visualize the location of the decimal) to 2 places to the left. This means your decimal is 0.08.
Multiply the decimal by the total untaxed cost from the first step. This will give you the tax. 22.32×0.08=1.7856, which rounds to currency of 1.79.
Add the tax and the untaxed total together to get the grand total. 1.79+22.32=24.11
