The solution to given system of linear equations is x = 4 and y = 4

Solution:

Given is a system of linear equation

4x - 2y = 8 ---------- eqn 1\\\\y = (3)/(2)x - 2 ---------- eqn 2

We have to solve the system of linear equations. We can solve the system by substitution method

Substitute eqn 2 in eqn 1

4x - 2((3)/(2)x - 2) = 8

Simplify the above equation

4x - 2((3x-4)/(2)) = 8\\\\4x - (3x-4) = 8\\\\\text{Remove the parenthesis and solve }\\\\4x - 3x + 4 = 8\\\\x = 8 - 4\\\\x = 4

Substitute x = 4 in eqn 2 to get value of y

y = (3)/(2) * 4 -2\\\\y = 6 - 2\\\\y = 4

Thus solution is x = 4 and y = 4
