Explanation:

multiply the bottom equation by -2 to cancel out the x's

-2(2x+3y=15)

-4x-6y=-30

line the two equations up

4x+2y=18

-4x-6y=-30

subtract downwards

-4y=-12

divide by -4

y=3

plug y in for one of the equations

4x+2(3)=18

4x+6=18

4x=12

x=3
