Giving someone a drink high in sugar will spike blood glucose levels. The objective is to take a baseline fasted blood test to see what levels are like before the drink is given. Then you provide this sugar drink. Periodically blood glucose can be monitored using a blood glucose metre. With this you can measure and see how long it takes for blood glucose levels to go back to baseline.

Answer: blood tests.

Step-by-step explanation:

To check how well the body processes glucose, patients are to drink a sugary drink given to them by their doctor and as time goes on they give the patient more sugary drinks. Then after some hours of waiting they draw blood from the patient and see if there is any glucose in the blood.
