Answer:

Whenever someone talks about free verse, there’s only one name which instantly pops up in one’s mind, ‘Walt Whitman’, he is often regarded as the ‘Father of Free Verse.’

Free versus is a type of poem which is free from rhymes and meters. The effect such this poetic form have on the poem is, such poems are free from formal constraints.

The speaker of the poem emphasizes the individuality of the different tradesmen of his time. He speaks of a carpenter, a boatman, and a mother; all fulfilling their duties to the society in which they are acquainted

It doesn’t restrict itself from boundaries set, rather such poems stands out from the rest. Whitman’s poems ‘Song of myself’, ‘Leaves of grass’ are all an example of free verses.
