Proteins can be described as large molecules made up of amino acid sub units. Proteins are known to play many important and crucial roles in an organism's body. Proteins maintain the structure, function and regulation of cells, tissues etc. Almost every function that a body performs is with the help of proteins.

Proteins are formed by DNA. The DNA contains specific genetic for the making of a specific mRNA through a process known as transcription. Through transcription, codons are transferred to mRNA. During translation, the codon is read and amino acids are made. By the amino acid codons, the proteins are formed from amino acids.
