If one of these levels is removed, we will have a very difficult time studying life on the planet and we will not be able to use that study to evolve.

The hierarchical levels are: atom, molecule, organelle, cell, tissue, organ, system, organism, population, community, biosphere ecosystem.

We won't be able to differentiate between the tissues, organs and systems of an organism and hence, studying the characteristics of an organism will become extremely difficult. We won't able to look at the similarities among organisms and hence will not be able to relate species to anther.

Removing a level such as community or ecosystem will make it difficult to understand the food chains and food web as well.
