We are given with a expression (x + 1)² - 4 and we need to find it's value when x = 7 . So , Let's name this polynomial first, let's say that p(x) = (x + 1)² - 4 . Now ;

{:\implies \quad \sf p(x)=(x+1)^(2)-4}

Now , substitute x = 7 ,

{:\implies \quad \sf p(7)=(7+1)^(2)-4}

{:\implies \quad \sf p(7)=(8)^(2)-4}

{:\implies \quad \sf p(7)=64-4}

{:\implies \quad \bf \therefore \quad p(7)=60}

Hence , The Required answer is 60
