Explanation:

So lets just say the recipe calls for 1 cups flour to 2 cups sugar, if you use 4 cups of flour how many cup would you need of sugar? well you would * 2 by the same amount you multiplied to get 4 cups of flour. so you would need 4 cups flour and 8 cups sugar!
