Explanation:

4(2x – 8) = 8(4x + 2)

Distribute

8x -32 = 32x+16

Subtract 8x from each side

8x-32 -8x = 32x+16-8x

-32 = 24x+16

Subtract 16 from each side

-32-16 = 24x+16-16

-48 = 24x

Divide by 24

-48/24 = 24x/24

-2 =x
