HELP ME WITH MY NOVEL PLEASE!!

So heres the summary - After a tragic accident, Calista finds herself in a coma. During this deep sleep, she finds herself feeling odd, seeing things she's unable to remember. She soon awakes to find she's not in her own skin, she's somehow breathing and functioning in the body of an accused murderer named London. She's in more danger than ever to prove her innocence and the innocence of this "murderer". As well as solve the mystery of what led to these events and the steps she must take to save herself.


Question 1. What caused the connection between the two girls? Why did Calista out of all people wake up in London's body? (nothing blood related, its too predictable)

I do a lot of drawing I'd love to help illustrate this but that's not the question. How about she's from some sort of ancient prophecy that describes a curse if a person does something that the prophecy says not to and that caused the unfortunate event of the crash and her awakening in a life much worse as a murderer.

Or instead have it be like she died and her spirit was swept away into the murderer whom coincidentally was also in some sort of event that caused his spirit to drift so they ended up somwhoe swapping bodies
