I will start off by defining the angle

\alpha = 90 - \beta

as being the angle between altitude and the hypotenuse of the triangle.

\alpha = 90 - 30.1 = 59.9

Using trigonometry, and the definition of the tan function defined by

\tan( \alpha ) = (opp)/(adj) = (x)/(1836.3)

\tan( 59.9 ) = (x)/(1836.3)

x = 1836.3 * \tan(59.9)

x = 3167.78

Rounding to the nearest tenth

x = 3170
