Explanation:

6x-8 -3x+5

+3x +3x

So now we have: 9x-8 5 so add 8 on both sides, leaving you with 9x on one and 13 on the other. Now divide 13 by 9, which is 1.4_ so x=1.4

Now do 3 times 1.4 plus 5 and 6 times 1.4 minus 8 and the results you get for each you will need to subtract: (result of 6x-8) - (result of 3x + 5)
