An airplane prepares for landing. When it begins its descent towards the airport, the plane's altitude is 27000 feet. After descending out a steady rate for 8 minutes, it's altitude is 19000 feet. Write an equation for the altitude of the plane in the form of Y equals MX + B

Answer:

f = feet above ground

r = rate of descent

m = minutes

f = 30000 - r · m

f = 30000 - 20000m

After five minutes:

f = 30000 - 2000(5)

f = 30000 - 10000

f = 20000

After five minutes the plane is at 10,000. feet.
