An artist is designing a kite like the one show below. Calculate the area to determine how much material she will need to create the kite.

A kite with two top triangles with height of 6 inches and a base of 8.5 inches. The bottom two triangles share the base but have a height labeled 13 inches.

Explanation:

According to question we have:

  • Top part has height of 6 in
  • Bottom part has height of 13 in
  • Base of both parts is 8.5 in
