Explanation:
I broke down the shape into 3 individual shapes, which created 2 rectangles and a triangle.
I multiplied the length and the height to get the area of each shape.
8 · 16 = 128 sq. m, 8 · 4 = 32 sq. m, and (2 · 4)/2 = 4 sq m.
I added the areas of each shape and got 164 sq. m.
128 sq. m + 32 sq. m + 4 sq. m= 164 sq m
