Hey there!

a + 2 = t

a + 2 = -4

SUBTRACT 2 to BOTH SIDES

a + 2 - 2 = -4 + 2

CANCEL out: 2 - 2 because it gives you 0

KEEP: -4 + 2 because that helps get the result of the a-value

a = -4 + 2

-4 + 2 = a

SIMPLIFY ABOVE & YOU HAVE THE VALUE OF THE A

a = -6

Therefore, your answer is: a = -6

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
