4y + 3 = 6y - 29

-4y -4y

Isolate variable by removing everything from the other side of the equation.

3 = 2y -29

+29 +29

32 = 2y

divide both sides by the coefficient (number next to variable, in this case it's 2).

32 = 2y

/2 /2

16 = y
