Explanation:

by graph method

x = -b/2a

b = 3, a = -9

x = -3/-18

x = 1/6

back to the equation to substitute

-9x + 3y = 12

-9(1/6) + 3y = 12

- 3/2 + 3y = 12

-3 + 6y = 24

6y = 27

y = 9/2

x = 1/6, y = 9/2
