Hey there!

• If x = 6, then substitute it into the equations until you find the correct answer…

Option A.

8x - 8 = 44

8(6) - 8 = 44

48 - 8 = 44

48 ≠ 44

Option A. is NOT your ANSWER

Option B.

2x + 5 = 17

2(6) + 5 = 17

12 + 5 = 17

17 = 17

Option B. could possibly be your answer

Option C.

8x + 7 = 103

8(6) + 7 = 103

48 + 7 = 103

55 ≠ 103

Option C. is NOT your answer

Option D.

2x - 7 = -5

2(6) - 7 = -5

12 - 7 = -5

5 ≠ -5

Option D is NOT your answer although 5 is the opposite of -5 but that still doesn’t justify that this could be your answer.

To sum it all up your ANSWER is: Option B. 2x + 7 = 17

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
