Answer:

x=24 and
y = 12√(3)

Explanation:

sinθ
= (perpendicular)/(hypotenuse)

sin60 =
(√(3) )/(2)

As per the diagram:
sin60 = (y)/(x)

(y)/(x) = (√(3) )/(2)

Cross multiplying:

2y = √(3)x
y =
(√(3)x )/(2)

Using Pythagoras Theorem:

x^2 = (12)^2 + y^2\\\\144 = x^2 - y^2\\\\and\\y = (√(3) x)/(2) \\\\Substituting:\\144 = x^2- ((√(3) x)/(2))^2\\\\144 = x^2 - (3x^2)/(4)\\ \\144 = (4x^2-3x^2)/(4) \\\\144*4 = x^2\\x^2 = 576 \\x=√(576)=24

We know that
y = (√(3)x)/(2)

Substituting the above value of x in the equation:

y = (24√(3))/(2) \\\\y = 12√(3)

Thank You :)
