Method 2:

⇒(1,000-10)×(30+7)
=1,000×(30+7)-10×(30+7)
=30,000+7,000-300-70
=37,000-370
=36,630

Method 1:

990×(40-3)
=990×40-990×3
=39,600 -2970
=36,630
