Explanation:

y = mx + b

m is slope

b is y-intercept

y = 3/5 x + 4/5

5y = 3x + 4

3x - 5y + 4 = 0

All three equations written above are correct, they are just in different formats :)

\mathbb{FINAL\;ANSWER:}

\huge\boxed{\sf{y=\displaystyle(3)/(5) x+0.8}}

\mathbb{SOLUTION:}

Hi! Hope you are having a nice day!

\mathcal{GIVEN:}

  • Slope of the line
  • The line's y-intercept

\mathcal{TO \ FIND:}

  • The equation of the line using the given information

\mathcal{PROCESS:}

  • Should we write the equation of the line in Slope-Intercept Form or in Point-Slope Form?

\mathcal{SLOPE-INTERCEPT\;FORM:}

  • y=mx+b
  • where m = slope of the line
  • where b = y-intercept of the line

Actually, we do have enough information to write the line's equation in Slope-Intercept form OR in Point-Slope Form.

However, let's write the equation in Slope-Intercept Form.

The y-intercept is 0.8, and the slope is
\sf{\displaystyle(3)/(5) }.

Equation:

y=mx+b

Plug m:

\sf{y=\displaystyle(3)/(5) x+b}

Plug b:

\sf{y=\displaystyle(3)/(5) x+0.8}

Hope you could understand everything.
