the sqaure root of (3-(-4)^2 + (-6-(-6)^2

then you get the sqaure root of (7)^2+ (0)^2

then add the numbers

you get sqaure root of 49

and the square root of 49 is 7 (because 7*7=49)

Explanation:

use this equation
\sqrt{(x2-x1)^(2) + (y2-y1)^(2)

your points are (-4, -6) and (3, -6)

i recommend plugging this into your calculator: (3+4)^2 + (-6+6)^2

you get 49 (second part cancels out so (7)^2=49

now bring the root sign down
√(49) =7
