After 24 years, Rama will be 5 times as old as he is now . Find his Present Age .​

Given :

  • After 24 years, Rama will be 5 times as old as he is now .

To Find :

  • Rama's Present Age .

Solution :

  • Let us assume the present age of Rama as x years .
  • So, 5 times of his age will be 5x years.

Now,

According to the Question :


{ \longrightarrow {\qquad {\sf 5x = x + 24 }}}

Subracting x from both sides we get :


{ \longrightarrow {\qquad {\sf 5x - x= x - x+ 24 }}}


{ \longrightarrow {\qquad {\sf 4x= \cancel{x} \: \: \cancel{- x}+ 24 }}}


{ \longrightarrow {\qquad {\sf 4x= 24 }}}

Dividing both sides by 4 we get :


{ \longrightarrow {\qquad {\sf (4x)/(4) = (24)/(4) }}}


{ \longrightarrow {\qquad \pmb {\bf x= 6 }}}

Therefore,

  • Rama's present age is 6 years.

Therefore :-

\longmapsto \: \: \sf{24 \: = \: 4x} \\
