No. of yards required for each quit = 3 7/8

can also be written as = 59/8

so,

yards,

required for 2 quilts = 2 × 59/8 = 14 3/4

required for 3 quilts = 3 × 59/8 = 23 4/8

required for 4 quilts = 4 × 59/8 = 8 1/2
