Read the following run-on sentence:

Ian is very excited about making homemade ginger ale he is also a little nervous.

Which of the revisions corrects the sentence?

Ian is very excited about making homemade ginger ale, and, he is also a little nervous.

Ian is very excited about making homemade ginger ale, he is also a little nervous.

Ian is very excited about making homemade ginger ale; but he is also a little nervous.

Ian is very excited about making homemade ginger ale. He is also a little nervous.

I would say the second, because the last one “He is also a little nervous.” is not correct. the first one is an excess of commas, and the second to last is an incorrect semicolon use.
